《文殊問經．下卷》云：爾時文殊師利白佛言：「世尊！諸供養餘華，用治眾病或消惡毒，其法云何？若供養佛餘華、般若波羅蜜華、佛足下華、菩提樹華、轉法輪處華、塔華、菩薩華、眾僧華、佛像華，其法云何？世尊！用此華有幾種呪？世尊！一切諸華云何入佛華中？世尊！用此華法，為有一種、為有多種？此呪為有一種、為有多種？」佛告文殊師利：「各各華，各各呪，一一華呪一百八遍。誦佛華呪曰：

The second fascicle of the Mañjuśrīparipṛcchā-sūtra says: At that time Mañjuśrī addressed the Buddha, saying: "World-Honoured One! Regarding the residual flowers from various offerings, what is the method for using them to treat various illnesses or dispel virulent poisons? What is the method if they are residual flowers from offerings to the Buddha, flowers [offered to] the Prajñāpāramitā, flowers [offered at] the feet of the Buddha, flowers [offered to] the Bodhi tree, flowers [offered at] the place where the wheel of the Dharma was turned, flowers [offered to] stūpas, flowers [offered to] bodhisattvas, flowers [offered to] the community of monks, or flowers [offered to] images of the Buddha? World-Honoured One! How many kinds of dhāraṇīs are used for these flowers? World-Honoured One! How do all flowers enter into the Buddha flowers? World-Honoured One! As for the method of using these flowers, is there one kind or are there many kinds? Are these dhāraṇīs of one kind or of many kinds?" The Buddha told Mañjuśrī: "For each respective flower there is a respective dhāraṇī; each individual flower is incanted one hundred and eight times. Reciting the dhāraṇī for the Buddha flowers says:
