3.161

一切種利行，有六、七種。六謂：若諸有情應正攝受正攝受之、應正調伏正調伏之、憎背聖教除其恚惱、處中住者令入聖教、已入聖教令其成熟、已成熟者令得解脫。七謂：隨所化生於善資糧守護長養，隨小大乘或於遠離，或於心一境性，或於清淨諸障，或於修習作意正安處之，若有二乘種即於二乘而正安處，若大乘種即於大乘安處。

Beneficial action of all sorts has six and seven kinds. The six are: correctly gathering in sentient beings if they should be gathered in; correctly taming them if they should be tamed; removing the anger and resentment of those who hate and oppose the noble teaching; causing those who remain indifferent to enter the noble teaching; maturing those who have entered the noble teaching; and causing those who have matured to attain liberation. The seven are: protecting and nurturing the wholesome provisions in accordance with the beings to be transformed; correctly establishing them in either the Hīnayāna or Mahāyāna, or in seclusion, or in one-pointedness of mind, or in purifying obscurations, or in practicing mental engagement; if they have the gotra of the two vehicles, correctly establishing them in the two vehicles; if they have the Mahāyāna gotra, establishing them in the Mahāyāna.
