十業能令眾生得多病報：一好喜打拍一切眾生、二勸他令打、三讚打、四見打歡喜、五惱亂父母令心憂惱、六惱亂賢聖、七見怨病苦心大歡喜、八見怨病愈心生不樂、九於怨病所與非對治、十宿食不消而復更食。復有十業，能令眾生得無病報，初四翻前四，五供養父母及諸病人，六見賢聖病瞻視供養，七見怨病愈心生歡喜，八見病苦者施與良藥亦勸他施，九於病苦起慈悲心，十於飲食自能節量。

Ten karmas can cause sentient beings to receive the retribution of much sickness: first, being fond of beating and striking all sentient beings; second, encouraging others to beat them; third, praising beating; fourth, rejoicing upon seeing beating; fifth, vexing and disturbing one's parents, causing their minds grief and affliction; sixth, vexing and disturbing noble ones and sages; seventh, rejoicing greatly in one's heart upon seeing an enemy suffering from illness; eighth, feeling unhappy upon seeing an enemy recover from illness; ninth, giving non-remedies when an enemy is ill; tenth, eating again before previous food has been digested. Furthermore, there are ten karmas that can cause sentient beings to receive the retribution of freedom from sickness: the first four are the reverse of the previous four; fifth, making offerings to parents and all sick people; sixth, nursing and making offerings upon seeing noble ones and sages who are ill; seventh, feeling joy in one's heart upon seeing an enemy recover from illness; eighth, bestowing good medicine upon seeing those suffering from illness and also encouraging others to bestow it; ninth, giving rise to loving-kindness and compassion toward those suffering from illness; tenth, being personally able to moderate food and drink.
