「善男子、善女人等諦聽！汝等今於我所，求受一切菩薩學處，求受一切菩薩淨戒，所謂律儀戒、攝善法戒、饒益有情戒，此諸學處、此諸淨戒，過去一切菩薩已學，未來一切菩薩當學，現在一切菩薩今學，汝等從今時盡未來際不得犯。能持不？」教答言：能。（三說）。

"Good sons and good daughters, listen attentively! You now seek to receive all the bodhisattva śikṣāpadas and seek to receive all the pure precepts of a bodhisattva at my place, namely the precepts of restraint, the precepts of collecting wholesome dharmas, and the precepts of benefiting sentient beings. All these śikṣāpadas and all these pure precepts have been practiced by all bodhisattvas of the past, will be practiced by all bodhisattvas of the future, and are being practiced by all bodhisattvas of the present. From this time until the end of the future, you must not violate them. Are you able to maintain them?" Instruct them to answer: "Able." (Spoken three times).
