Third, concerning the sequence, there are three causes and conditions: first, earlier and later; second, lower and higher; third, coarse and subtle. Taking giving as the first leads to the subsequent morality and so forth. Taking giving as lower, morality and so forth are higher. Taking giving as coarse, morality and so forth are subtle. All are known in successive order.
