1.75

夫此章者，殊開出苦之戶牖、正示入道之階級，行人之目足、能詮之肝心也。所以年來雖發刊印板，弘遐邇之願，齋飡常空一鉢之中，資貯全絕三衣之外，因茲徒抱流通志，未及彫刻營之處。幸蒙一乘院家之厚助，忽遂多年惻隱之本望，偏是冥感之所致也。請願採手觸眼，同益本性之種；讀文解義，速成菩提之果而已。

Now this treatise particularly opens the door of liberation from suffering and directly shows the gradations of entering the path; it is the eyes and feet of the practitioner, the very heart and marrow of the explaining text. Therefore, over the years, although I generated the vow to carve printing blocks and propagate it far and wide, my daily meal was constantly empty in a single bowl, and material savings were entirely non-existent beyond the three robes; because of this, I held in vain the aspiration to circulate it, unable to reach the point of undertaking its carving. Fortunately, through the generous assistance of the master of Ichijō-in, the earnest wish of many years was suddenly fulfilled, wholly brought about by unseen resonance. I pray that those whose hands pick it up and whose eyes meet it will together nourish the seed of their original nature; and that reading the text and understanding the meaning, they will swiftly accomplish the fruit of bodhi.
