前中，若小乘佛果，唯是無常，以不說本性功德故，如《佛性論》云「小乘以無性德佛性，但有修德」也。
Regarding the first: the Hīnayāna buddha-fruition is only impermanent, because it does not teach innate merit, as the Buddhadhātu-śāstra says: "The Hīnayāna, having no buddha-nature of innate merit, possesses only cultivated merit."
