4.43

初立義門者，略立十義門以顯無盡。何者為十？一、教義，即攝一乘、三乘乃至五乘等一切教義，餘下準之；二、理事，即攝一切理事；三、解行，即攝一切解行；四、因果，即攝一切因果；五、人法，即攝一切人法；六、分齊境位，即攝一切分齊境位；七、師弟法智，即攝一切師弟法智；八、主伴依正，即攝一切主伴依正；九、隨其根欲示現，即攝一切隨其根欲示現；十、逆順體用自在等，即攝一切逆順體用自在等。此十門為首，皆各總攝一切法，成無盡也。

First, the approach of establishing the principles: it briefly establishes ten principles to reveal the inexhaustible. What are the ten? First, teaching and meaning: this includes all teachings and meanings of the One Vehicle, Three Vehicles, up to the Five Vehicles, and the rest below should be understood accordingly; second, principle and phenomena: this includes all principles and phenomena; third, understanding and practice: this includes all understanding and practice; fourth, cause and fruition: this includes all causes and fruitions; fifth, persons and dharmas: this includes all persons and dharmas; sixth, scope of stages: this includes all scopes of stages; seventh, master and disciple, dharma and cognition: this includes all masters and disciples, dharmas and cognitions; eighth, host and companion, dependent and primary [retribution]: this includes all hosts and companions, dependent and primary [retributions]; ninth, manifestation in accordance with capacities and desires: this includes all manifestations in accordance with capacities and desires; tenth, freedom of accordant and contrary essence and function: this includes all freedom of accordant and contrary essence and function. Taking these ten doors as the head, each universally includes all dharmas, constituting the inexhaustible.
