According to Master Hushen, he established five kinds of teachings: three kinds are identical to those of Master Yan and others above; the fourth is called the tenet-teaching of the real, meaning sūtras such as the Nirvāṇa, which clarify the true principle of buddha-nature and so forth; the fifth clarifies the tenet of the dharma-realm, meaning the Avataṃsaka, which clarifies the sovereign and unobstructed doctrinal approach of the dharma-realm and so forth.
