3.38

According to the sudden teaching, all afflictions are originally and naturally separated [from the nature]; one cannot speak of severing or not severing them. As the Dharmadhātuprakṛty-asaṃbheda-nirdeśa-sūtra says: 'The Buddha asked Mañjuśrī: "How do you teach good sons to generate the mind of bodhi?" Mañjuśrī said: "I teach them to generate the mind of the view of self. Why? Because the eradication of the view of self is itself bodhi."' This passage proves it, as should be understood accordingly.
