問：劫減佛興世，分齊云何？答：依小乘教，百年為劫減。依三乘教，有二種減：一時減非善減、二時減亦善減。八萬劫以下大位為時減；百年以下大位為善減，五濁等諸惡增故。

Question: What is the temporal scope of the buddha's arising in the world during the kalpa of decrease? Answer: According to the Hīnayāna teaching, one hundred years constitutes the kalpa of decrease. According to the triyāna teaching, there are two kinds of decrease: first, decrease in time and not decrease in goodness; second, decrease in time and also decrease in goodness. The broad stage below eighty thousand kalpas constitutes a decrease in time; the broad stage below one hundred years constitutes a decrease in goodness, because the various evils such as the five defilements increase.
