第三明意識者，意識是無邊，分別一切處，分別與其五識或一或異，乃至相應數等發智分齊，並如問答中心數分別，廣如別章。

Third, explaining the mental consciousness: The mental consciousness is boundless, discriminating all places; its discrimination is either identical with or different from the five consciousnesses, up to its demarcation of generating wisdom along with the associated mental factors, all being as distinguished in the questions and answers on mental factors, extensively treated in a separate chapter.
