依大慈恩寺《華嚴》梵本撿，有五百四十一紙葉（五十五字為一行，二十行為一紙葉）。一紙葉背面二千二百八十字，十紙計當二萬二千八百字。三十二字為一頌，一百紙當二十二萬八千字，三十二萬為萬頌。五百四十一紙，計當一百三十二萬三千四百八十字。依三十二字為頌，計當四萬一千九百八十頌餘十字。

According to an inspection of the Sanskrit manuscript of the Avataṃsaka at Daci'en Monastery, there are five hundred and forty-one folios (fifty-five characters make one line, and twenty lines make one folio). The front and back of one folio have 2,280 characters; ten folios are calculated as 22,800 characters. Thirty-two characters make one gāthā; one hundred folios correspond to 228,000 characters; 320,000 [characters] make ten thousand gāthās. Five hundred and forty-one folios are calculated as 1,323,480 characters. Reckoned at thirty-two characters per gāthā, it amounts to 41,980 gāthās and ten remaining characters.
