Regarding the ten epithets: first, Tathāgata; second, Arhat; third, Samyaksaṃbuddha; fourth, Vidyācaraṇasaṃpanna; fifth, Sugata; sixth, Lokavid; seventh, Anuttara-puruṣadamyasārathi; eighth, Śāstādevamanuṣyāṇām; ninth, Buddha; tenth, Bhagavān. The above ten epithets extend through the principles of the Ekayāna, the Triyāna, and the Hīnayāna, as mentioned above. In the Distinct Teaching, epithets vary according to regions, numbering in the hundreds, millions, and ten billions, through the demarcations of teachings in the south, west, north, and the ten directions.
