Regarding the four non-arisings: first is the non-arising of phenomena; second is the non-arising of intrinsic nature; third is the non-arising of numerical distinctions; fourth is the non-arising of distinctions in karmic activities. These four non-arisings are broadly explained as in the treatise. 'The non-arising of phenomena' means that within the path of application of the Triyāna, one understands phenomena as they truly are. 'The non-arising of intrinsic nature' means that within the Triyāna, contemplation through the fundamental cognition is non-dual, being accomplished as equal and identical. 'Numerical distinctions' refers to the principle corresponding to distinguishing the demarcations of the characteristics of dharmas within the Triyāna, which is empty and free from conceptual distinction. 'The non-arising of distinctions in karmic activities' corresponds to accomplishing the Buddha's work within the Triyāna, just as the heavenly drum accomplishes its work without thinking. Definitively free from conceptual distinction, it is provisionally manifested as accomplished in the eighth bhūmi. According to the meaning in the Ekayāna, seeing and hearing take place in the stage of ten faiths, and at its concluding mind, understanding and practice are accomplished; at the superior progress following the concluding mind of the ten faiths, one attains definitive realization in the ten understandings. The rest of the doctrine is as in the separate chapter.
