五、約三義故立三寶：一調御師、二調御師法、三調御師弟子。故《寶性論》云「問曰：依何等義故立三寶？答曰：偈言『依調御師所證弟子故也。』」

Fifth, the Three Jewels are established in terms of three meanings: first, the charioteer; second, the Dharma of the charioteer; third, the disciples of the charioteer. Thus the Ratnagotravibhāga says: "Question: Based on what meanings are the Three Jewels established? Answer: The verse says, 'Based on the charioteer, that which is realized, and the disciples.'"
