Seventh, explaining difference and non-difference: the phenomenal marks of the dust mote are difference; strictly speaking, its essence is solely the Dharma, which is non-difference. Precisely because the essence of dharma is not different, the meaning of difference is established, since it does not lose its essence. Precisely because the phenomenal marks of the dust mote are distinct, the meaning of non-difference is established; since it does not destroy pratītyasamutpāda, principle can then be spoken of. A sūtra states: "How extraordinary, World-Honoured One! Within the undifferentiated dharma, you explain that all dharmas are different."
