Second, unfolding the two truths: Seeing the dust mote's characteristics as round and small, with illusory existence appearing before one, is conventional truth; understanding that the dust mote has no essence, with its illusory characteristics swept away, is paramārtha-satya. Now, this existence of conventional truth is not different from the characteristic of emptiness; only then is it called conventional truth. Furthermore, the emptiness of paramārtha-satya manifests in accordance with conditions and is not different from the characteristic of existence; only then is it called paramārtha-satya. Furthermore, emptiness is revealed relying on existence, which is conventional truth becoming paramārtha-satya; because existence gathers emptiness to be accomplished, paramārtha-satya becomes conventional truth. Because they are neither ultimate nor conventional, they are therefore able to be both ultimate and conventional; being two yet without duality, the meanings of one and two are distinctly evident without obstruction. A sūtra says: 'In understanding it is always singular; in the truths it is always twofold. Penetrating this without obstruction, one truly enters the ultimate meaning.'
