However, the designations of these contemplation gates are not fixed. If named in terms of the one essence, it is the samādhi gate of the ocean-reflection shining brightly; if discussed in terms of the two functions, it is named the samādhi gate of Avataṃsaka marvelous practices; if spoken in terms of the three pervasive aspects, it is the samādhi gate of a mote of dust containing the ten directions; if named according to the four virtues, it is named the samādhi gate of embracing sentient beings through the four embrace-practices; if spoken in terms of the five cessations, it is the samādhi gate of the unhindered nature of quiescence and function; if named taking the six contemplations, it is the samādhi gate of the unobstructed Buddha-fruit. Designations are established in accordance with virtues for meanings such as these; according to the teaching, they are explained as the six contemplations. Entering any single gate, all virtues are completely endowed; when the unproduced is already revealed, illusory existence is not annihilated. Gathering the dharma-realm, a single mote of dust subsumes it; raising a single body, ten bodies manifest.
