The complete teaching is inconceivable: peer into a single mote of dust and it is suddenly manifest. The perfect lineage is unfathomable: look at a fine hair and it is simultaneously displayed. Yet function is differentiated from essence, not without tendencies of distinction; phenomena appear based on principle, naturally possessing the form of a single limit. It is like medicine arising when sickness appears, or wisdom being established when delusion is born. If the sickness is false, the medicine is also false—raising an empty fist to stop a child's crying; if the mind penetrates, phenomena penetrate—drawing upon empty space to show pervasiveness. Once one is aware and awakened, what is blocked and what penetrates? The hundred negations put an end to cognitive grasping, and the four catuṣkoṭi sever addition and subtraction. Thus both medicine and sickness vanish together, quietude and turbulence are completely fused, subject and object are dissolved to enter the profound lineage, and nature and marks are eliminated to return to the dharma-realm.
