理事即真妄。論云「真妄和合，非一非異，名阿賴耶識。」此識有覺不覺二義，覺即令生真性正解、不覺即令生無明正解。若約善財參諸知識，遇三毒而三德圓，皆生正解。

Principle and phenomena are the true and the delusive. The treatise says: 'The harmony of the true and delusive, being neither identical nor different, is called the ālayavijñāna.' This consciousness has two meanings: enlightenment and non-enlightenment. Enlightenment causes correct understanding of the true nature to arise; non-enlightenment causes correct understanding of avidyā to arise. In terms of Sudhana visiting the good friends, encountering the three poisons while the three virtues are perfected, all give rise to correct understanding.
