第八、括六相者，　謂師子是總相，五根差別是別相；共一緣起是同相，眼耳各不相到是為異相；諸根合會是成相，諸緣各住自位是壞相。

Eighth, embracing the six characteristics: this means that the lion is the general characteristic; the distinctions of the five faculties are the particular characteristic; sharing one dependent origination is the characteristic of sameness; the eyes and ears each not reaching one another is the characteristic of difference; the coming together of all the faculties is the characteristic of formation; each condition abiding in its own place is the characteristic of disintegration.
