若不即空者，凡夫見色應不迷。又凡夫所見色，長隔真空，應永不成聖。上二句拂前初觀也。

If it were not identical with emptiness, then ordinary beings seeing rūpa should not be deluded. Furthermore, the rūpa seen by ordinary beings would be permanently separated from true emptiness, and they would never become sages. The above two lines wipe away the first contemplation above.
