融，和也，謂相成義。以理鎔事，事與理而融和也。即初二門，二門互融，故互遍也。

Rong [harmonize] means concord, referring to the meaning of mutual accomplishment. With principle fusing phenomena, phenomena and principle harmonize. These are the first two gates; because the two gates mutually harmonize, they mutually pervade.
