如影像表鏡明，識智表本性。《起信》云「因無明能知名義，為說真覺」等。

Just as a reflected image indicates the clarity of a mirror, and consciousness and wisdom indicate the original nature. The Awakening of Faith says: "Because of avidhyā one is able to know names and meanings, for the sake of explaining true enlightenment," and so forth.
