1.267

謂真理隨緣成諸事法，然此事法既違（亦云匝）於理，遂令事顯理不顯也。如水成波，動顯靜隱。經云「法身流轉五道名曰眾生」，故令眾生現時法身不現也。

This means that true principle follows conditions to establish all phenomenal entities; however, since these phenomenal entities run contrary to (also said as 'encompass') principle, phenomena are made to manifest while principle is not manifest. Just as when water becomes waves, motion manifests and stillness is concealed. A sūtra says: 'When the dharmakāya transmigrates through the five paths, it is called sentient beings.' Therefore, when sentient beings appear, the dharmakāya does not appear.
