《華嚴》五十一偈云「如有大經卷，量等三千界，在一微塵內，一切塵悉然。有一聰慧人，淨眼悉明見，破塵出經卷，普饒益眾生。佛智亦如是，遍在眾生心，妄想之所纏，不覺亦不知。諸佛大慈悲，令其除妄想，如是乃出現，饒益諸菩薩。」清涼云：「剖微塵之經卷，念念果成。」

A verse in Chapter Fifty-one of the Avataṃsaka says: "Suppose there is a great scroll of scripture, equal in measure to the three-thousandfold world, existing within a single subtle dust mote, and so it is in all dust motes. There is a wise person who, seeing clearly with a pure eye, breaks open the dust mote and brings forth the scroll of scripture, universally benefiting sentient beings. The Buddha's wisdom is also like this: pervading the minds of sentient beings, bound by false thoughts, they neither perceive nor know it. The Buddhas, with great compassion, cause them to eliminate false thoughts, so that it thus emerges to benefit all bodhisattvas." Qingliang said: "Cleaving open the scroll of scripture within a subtle dust mote, the fruit is achieved thought after thought."
