半夜日頭明，不識大疲極。此頌不犯無生玄旨，妙會非幻幽宗。帝心密顯雙融，夷門傍通一線，真可謂語帶玄而無路，舌頭談而不談。終南者，長安南壽山名也，帝心生居於此。今舉起辨人，故曰終南也。

At midnight the sun is bright; not recognizing it causes great fatigue. This gāthā does not violate the profound purport of non-arising, but wondrously tallies with the mysterious principle of the non-illusory. Dixin secretly revealed their dual interfusion, and Yimen laterally opened a single thread; it can truly be called words bearing the profound without a path, and the tongue speaking while not speaking. Zhongnan is the name of Mount Shou south of Chang'an, where Dixin was born and lived. Now citing him to identify the person, it says 'Zhongnan'.
