兩岸蘆花色正絴，一陣金風暗除掃。義曰：前雖己揀，約偏執而除之；今則雙遣，以顯同時。此以幻色即不即法，揀去斷空實色之情計訖。《觀》云「二實色不即真空。實色是所揀，以幻色即真空故不即斷空，斷空是所揀也。」

On both banks the reed blossoms are fully white; / a gust of autumn wind sweeps them away in secret. The meaning is: Although they were previously screened out, that was eliminating them according to biased attachments; now they are dually dismissed to reveal simultaneity. This uses the Dharma of illusory form being identical and not identical to screen out the emotional calculations of nihilistic emptiness and substantial form completely. The Contemplation says: 'Second, substantial form is not identical with true emptiness. Substantial form is what is screened out. Because illusory form is identical with true emptiness, it is not identical with nihilistic emptiness; nihilistic emptiness is what is screened out.'
