前來雖點破，疑情恐未消。義曰：前門約境，此約心揀之。然文勢相翻，成後二門之義。《觀》云「一斷空不即幻色，斷空是所揀也。以真空即幻色，是能揀法也。」

Although pointed out and broken before,
It is feared that doubting sentiments have not yet vanished.
Commentary: The previous gate selected with respect to the object; this gate selects with respect to the mind. Yet the trend of the text flips to form the meaning of the latter two gates. The Contemplation says: "First, annihilated emptiness is not identical to illusory form. Annihilated emptiness is what is selected out. Because true emptiness is identical to illusory form, it is the method that can select out."
