1.62

〈賢首品〉云「大海龍王游戲時，普現諸處得自在，興雲充遍四天下，其雲種種莊嚴色。閻浮提雨清淨水，微細悅澤常應時，長養眾花及果藥，成熟一切諸苗稼。」乃至「龍王自在悉能作，而身不動無分別。」清涼云：「龍王大用不同德。」又雲門垂語云「古佛與露柱相交，是第幾機？」眾無語。自代云：「南山起雲，北山下雨。且道是何用也。」大師下云。

The "Bhadraśrī Chapter" states: "When the great ocean dragon king disports himself, he appears everywhere with mastery, raising clouds that fill all four continents, clouds of diverse and adornful hues. He rains down pure water upon Jambudvīpa, subtle, moistening, and ever timely, nourishing all flowers, fruits, and medicines, ripening every crop and sprout..." and so forth up to, "The dragon king accomplishes all with mastery, yet his body does not move and has no conceptual discrimination." Qingliang says: "The dragon king's great function is identical in virtue." Furthermore, Yunmen addressed the assembly, saying: "When the ancient Buddha crosses paths with the bare pillar, what level of functioning capacity is this?" The assembly had no answer. Yunmen answered on their behalf: "Clouds rise on the southern mountain; rain falls on the northern mountain. Now tell me, what function is this?" The Master continues below:
