Simply attain the root, do not worry about the branches. In this verse, "the wetness within the waves" is phenomenal dharmas being empty of substance and identical to principle. "The face in the mirror" is the emptiness of substance. Since one understands that things are identical to true principle through contemplative wisdom, why bother to investigate the meaning of emptiness of substance any further?
