2.15

早知今日事，悔不慎當初。此頌前會色歸空，是影揀斷實之情，唯言顯理未云顯解也。今此正揀情執遍計，影揀依他境空。悟此解心不離前理，大似不知燈元是火，空忍飢腸耳。

Had I known earlier of today's matters, / I would regret not being cautious at the beginning.
This verse [means that] the previous assimilation of form back to emptiness implicitly eliminated the sentiments of annihilation and reality, speaking only of manifesting principle without yet speaking of manifesting understanding. Now this directly eliminates the emotional attachment to parikalpita and implicitly eliminates the emptiness of the paratantra object. Awakening to this understanding mind as not separate from the previous principle is much like not knowing the lamp was originally fire, enduring hunger in vain.
