空手把鋤頭，步行騎水牛。此頌帝心禪師廣狹相參之妙句，下無私應，須玄會耳。

Empty-handed, holding a hoe; / Walking on foot, riding a water buffalo. This gāthā praises Chan Master Dixin's wondrous line where breadth and narrowness intermingle; below, it does not respond personally, but must be understood profoundly.
