"A hero does not submit to dying among the barbarians; / He further builds a high terrace to gaze toward his native home."
This verse refers to Li Ling, the son of Li Guang, named Ling, courtesy name Shaoqing. During the reign of Emperor Wu of the Former Han, he led five thousand soldiers north to campaign against the Chanyu; because his strength was insufficient, he fell into the barbarian land and did not return, specially building a high terrace to gaze toward his native home. Taking the one phenomenon facing many phenomena, it cannot be reached by discursive feelings.
