"The light of a single lamp illuminates mutually; / The shadows in a thousand mirrors support each other."
This verse uses the many mirrors as an analogy for the many phenomena, and the single lamp as an analogy for contemplating wisdom. If a single lamp is in the center of ten mirrors, one sees the lamps illuminating each other and the mirrors accommodating each other. The standard completes the divisions of phenomena in terms of decrease and increase, but wisdom has neither increase nor decrease. It can be said that at the very moment of mutually accommodating, mutual pervasion is not obstructed; at the very moment of mutually including, mutual entry is not obstructed.
