舊佛新成，新成舊佛。此頌去新曰故，明主法也；去故曰新，明伴法也。新復故者，是全賓為主也。牒前八門一多之主法也。

"The old Buddha is newly accomplished; / Newly accomplished, he is the old Buddha."
This verse means that leaving the new is called old, which clarifies the host phenomenon; leaving the old is called new, which clarifies the companion phenomenon. "The new returns to old" means the entire companion becomes the host. It reiterates the host phenomenon of one and many from the previous eight gates.
