"Unwilling to linger in the Nine Palaces, / One enters the crossroads alone."
This verse refers to perfect clarity: distinguishing it from the ignorance of ordinary beings, the seeming clarity of the two vehicles, and the partial clarity of bodhisattvas, the Buddha is termed "perfect clarity," representing the entire host becoming the entire companion. This means that after that noble wisdom realizes the truth, its achievement completed without claiming mastery, it turns back into the defilements of the dust, mingling with ordinary traces, perfectly clear everywhere without being obscured. Since there is no host outside the guest, who is the one to discern that the entire host has become the guest? The intent is to show independence, hence it is said: "who can distinguish?"
