古記云：大海非是毒藥所壞，大空非是利劍所傷。緣起三毒亘三際，直得無分別耳，非更息滅方為斷也。

The Ancient Record states: The great ocean is not destroyed by poison; great space is not injured by a sharp sword. The three poisons of pratītyasamutpāda span the three times; one directly attains non-discrimination, and it is not that they are further extinguished to constitute severing.
