大記云：所謂十佛者，若以佛字印印之則證分，十佛若以普字印印之則是教分十佛也。

The *Great Record* states: Regarding the "so-called ten Buddhas," if one stamps them with the seal of the character "Buddha" (佛), they are the ten Buddhas of the realization aspect; if one stamps them with the seal of the character "universal" (普), they are the ten Buddhas of the teaching aspect.
