律本云，檀越為比丘令隨作房法一切聽與，事事具出，如前猶多；阿難得別房開受；如僧殘中開造大小房，白二加法作之；又開給住房比丘大小繩床、大小木床等；又若夜闇須燈器、鐵𣛰鐵炷、火爐燈籠者開之。

The root Vinaya states: "When a dānapati provides for a bhikṣu in accordance with the rules for building rooms, it is entirely permitted to accept it," with every single item fully listed, even more numerous than the aforementioned; Ānanda obtaining a private room was permitted to be accepted; as in the saṅghāvaśeṣa, where constructing large and small rooms is permitted, executed through an announcement with one motion (ñattidutiya-kammapāṭha); furthermore, it is permitted to provide resident bhikṣus with large and small corded beds, large and small wooden beds, and the like; furthermore, if in the darkness of night one requires lamp vessels, iron stands, iron wicks, braziers, or lanterns, they are permitted.
