四、白衣之服（律本云，汝等癡人，避我所制，更作餘事，自今已去，一切白衣服不得著，若著如法治。白衣服者，襖褶袴行膝手衣等。《十誦》云，五大色衣、一切毛皮衣、褊袖衣複貯衣、一切氈衣一切貫頭衣、兩袖衣一切囊衣、一切衫袴禪並不得著）。

Fourth: clothing of the laity. (The root Vinaya states: 'You foolish people, circumventing my regulations, have engaged in other practices. From this day forward, no white clothing of any kind may be worn; if worn, it shall be dealt with according to the Dharma.' White clothing refers to lined jackets, pleated coats, trousers, leggings, gloves, and the like. The Sarvāstivāda [Vinaya] states: garments of the five primary colors, all fur and leather garments, narrow-sleeved garments, padded garments, all felt garments, all poncho garments, two-sleeved garments, all pouch-like garments, all unlined robes, trousers, and skirts must not be worn.)
