敬本教興篇第一（謂興立敬本，非正信而不弘，無信必不興敬，有敬必先懷信。篇明信本，敬隨後生故也。）

Chapter One: The Origin of Reverence and the Arising of the Teaching (Meaning that in establishing the origin of reverence, without correct faith it will not be propagated; without faith reverence will certainly not arise, and where there is reverence one must first harbor faith. The chapter clarifies faith as the foundation, because reverence arises subsequently.)
