一曰稽首拜，謂臣拜君之拜也。稽訓為稽（計奚反），即久稽留停，頭至地少久也。

The first is called bowing the head to the ground (jisou), which refers to the bow of a minister to a ruler. Ji is glossed as "to delay" (phonetic gloss: ji-xi), meaning to stay and linger for a long time, with the head touching the ground for a short while.
