Furthermore, although there are three equal types of wisdom, my own is the same as the wisdom of oxen and sheep; the transcendent path is unique, but oxen and sheep are different from me and not of my kind. When humans do not practice the conditions of the path, they are again identical to beasts; the retribution of the beast realm is heavy, obstinate, and dense, and the Dharma is not what they can hear. Now that our form is light and clear, and the conscious mind is alert and capable, we weary of the toilsome births in past kalpas, and rejoice in breaking free from the net in the future. Surely we should erect images to manifest deportment, prostrating in reverence while throwing down our gathering of dust; relying on conditions to look upward in reverence, washing away the afflictions and burdens from our renewed mind. Then our feelings will differ from oxen and sheep, mounting bright wisdom to propagate the path; though our bodies are like wood and stone, they rely on carving and polishing to become vessels. Can it be otherwise? Can it be otherwise?
