「世尊爾時將諸比丘入城乞食，執持衣鉢坐具在肩。有諸外道語達摩多言：『今瞿曇沙門入城乞食，可往言論，降從大師。』時達摩多領諸徒眾，身披白㲲，所披一張價直千兩紫磨黃金，將至佛所。

"At that time, the World-Honoured One led the monks into the city to beg for food, holding their robes and bowls with their sitting mats on their shoulders. Some non-Buddhists said to Dharmatā: 'Now the śramaṇa Gautama has entered the city to beg for food; you may go to debate with him and subdue him to follow our great teacher.' Then Dharmatā, leading his disciples, draped in white cotton cloth—a single piece of which was worth a thousand liang of purple-sheen refined gold—went toward the Buddha's location.
