答云：「蒼頡於此臺上，增土造臺，觀鳥跡者，非無其事。且蒼頡之傳，此土罕知其源。或云黃帝之臣，或云古帝王也。鳥跡之書，其變一途，今所施有無益之言，不勞述也。」

He replied, "That Cangjie piled up earth on this terrace to make a platform and observed the footprints of birds is not without basis. Moreover, regarding the traditions of Cangjie, people in this land rarely know their true origin. Some say he was a minister of the Yellow Emperor; others say he was an ancient king. The script based on bird footprints was merely one variant trajectory; to discuss its present usage here would be of no benefit, so we need not labour to expound it."
