前西北有一大院，名他方諸佛之院。為通化故，時來此中。內有林池，花樹充滿，東西二門，對大街開。大梵天王化作十二方石，清淨光潔，佛坐上。中有摩尼天鼓，時至自鳴，和修吉龍王所造。其聲遠聞，下至水際，上至有頂。地獄人聞，離苦生天，亦有入果；小乘人聞，得至大乘；初發心者，得入七地。

To the northwest of the former is a great compound, named the Compound of Buddhas from Other Directions. For the sake of universal transformation, they periodically come into this [compound]. Inside are forests and ponds, full of flowering trees; its eastern and western two gates open facing the great street. Mahābrahmā manifested twelve square stones, pure, bright, and clean, upon which the Buddhas sit. In its midst is a maṇi celestial drum, which sounds by itself when the time arrives, made by the nāgarāja Vāsuki. Its sound is heard far away, reaching down to the water edge and up to the Peak of Existence. When people in hell hear it, they leave suffering and are born in heaven, and some also enter the fruits; when people of the Small Vehicle hear it, they are able to reach the Great Vehicle; those who first generate the mind [for bodhi] are able to enter the seventh stage.
