Next, to the west of the small lane, is a courtyard called the Courtyard of the Śaikṣa Four Truths. Its gate faces the eastern lane; inside are halls and trees, and the rest is as described above. There is a large bronze bell in the shape of Mount Sumeru, made by the elder's son Sukina in the city of Śrāvastī. Because his own voice was like the sound of a broken pot, when he was about ten years old, he aroused an aspiration of hope and reverence, and flew up to the Trāyastriṃśa Heaven. The Brahmā King knew his mind and sent an Indian artisan to instruct him in the standards and models. After the bell was completed, that person obtained the superior retribution of a voice like thunder. Upon the bell are images of the palaces of Śakra and the Four Heavenly Kings, the sun, moon, stars, constellations, and the four seas. Its sound is like a dragon zither, heard within a thousand li; heard up close, it is like the sound of nuns chanting praises in Jiangnan.
