May [the Three Jewels], by the power of compassion and loving-kindness, join in embracing [these beings] and rescuing them from all the sufferings of the hungry ghost destiny: for all hungry ghost destinies, all hungry ghost spirits and each of their retinues, and all hungry ghosts and each of their retinues throughout the realms of the ten directions—east, west, south, north, the four intermediate directions, above, and below—may all their karmic hindrances be entirely eliminated; may all their manifold sufferings be completely liberated; may their bodies and minds be cool and clear, no longer afflicted by burning distress; may their bodies and minds be replete and full, no longer suffering hunger and thirst; attaining the taste of amṛta, may they open the eye of wisdom; may the four immeasurable minds and the six pāramitās constantly become manifest; may the four unhindered knowledges and the six supernatural powers be sovereign at their will; leaving the hungry ghost destiny, may they enter the path of nirvāṇa; and equally with all the Buddhas, may they together realize samyaksambodhi.
